Keeping Eternal Perspective

Jesus said, “My peace I give to you; not as the world gives …” (John 14:27).

That’s where my eyes need to be right now. Fixed on Truth that I know is unwavering and the bedrock of my faith.

Think about how storms affect an ocean...

On the surface, the winds can sweep across the sea at 40, 60, 100 miles an hour, with blowing rain, lightning, thunder, and an overpowering darkness. Waves can rise to 20, 30, even 50 feet high. A ship in such a storm can be tossed about like a toy boat. It’s easy for an oceangoing craft to be lost in such storms. But underneath the surface, just 100 feet down, there’s no storm. All is perfectly quiet. No sound. No tumult. Not even a ripple of turmoil.

Everywhere we look right now there is anxiety and fear. Peace is the last thing we hear about on the news.

God is all about transcending the circumstances, surpassing our understanding, and extending His peace to us.

We have to go underneath the surface my friends! Shifting our perspective to what we know is foundational and solid!

My physical being seeks shelter within our home, but spiritually my soul is resting in Him.

I know it’s hard right now friends. Hang tight. Hold closely to the Father and your perspective will find peace!
